Areas We Serve
Employment Law Representation Across Western Pennsylvania
Kennedy Law is based in downtown Pittsburgh and represents employees throughout Western Pennsylvania — from Allegheny County and the surrounding suburbs to Westmoreland, Washington, Butler, Beaver, and the counties north and east.
One office covers that much ground for a reason. Nearly every workplace claim in this region runs through Pittsburgh before it goes anywhere else.
If you file a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, it goes to the EEOC’s Pittsburgh Area Office on Liberty Avenue. If you file with the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, it goes to their Pittsburgh Regional Office three blocks away. If your case ends up in federal court, it’s heard in the Western District of Pennsylvania. Whether you work in Greensburg, Canonsburg, Cranberry, or Monroeville, the agencies deciding what happens next are a short walk from our office.
Below are the areas where we’ve written in detail about local workplaces and the claims that come out of them. If your county isn’t listed with its own page, that doesn’t mean we don’t handle cases there. It means we haven’t written that page yet. Call us either way.
Pittsburgh & Allegheny County (Our office)
Our office is on Fort Pitt Boulevard, minutes from the courthouse and both agencies that handle discrimination charges. We represent employees across Allegheny County, in hospitals and health systems, universities, corporate offices downtown and in the East End, restaurants, hotels, and retail.
Monroeville & Eastern Allegheny County
The eastern suburbs run on healthcare: hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care, and a large home health workforce. Home health raises a problem we see often: an aide alone in a client’s house has no coworkers, no supervisor on site, and an employer who may claim it isn’t their workplace. It is. We also represent workers along the Route 22 retail and office corridor and throughout Penn Hills, Plum, and the Turtle Creek Valley.
Greensburg & Westmoreland County
Westmoreland has the second-largest workforce in our service area. Much of it is warehousing and distribution along the Turnpike and I-70 near New Stanton, long-term care and nursing facilities across the county, and retail and restaurants along the Route 30 corridor. Night shifts, high turnover, supervisors with real power over hourly workers, and large buildings with isolated areas are a combination that produces the cases we handle.
Washington County, Canonsburg & Southpointe
Washington County has the highest average wages in Western Pennsylvania outside Allegheny, driven by natural gas, energy services, and the corporate campuses at Southpointe. Field and pipeline work puts crews far from any HR office, often on rotating schedules and out-of-town lodging, in one of the most male-dominated workforces in the region. Many of these workers are employed by a staffing agency while working at another company’s site and assume that leaves them with no rights — usually it doesn’t.
Cranberry Township & Butler County
Butler County is the fastest-growing employment market in Pennsylvania, and fast growth means employers whose HR often hasn’t caught up. Along the Route 228 and I-79 corridor, the claims tend to look corporate — a supervisor, a work trip, an after-hours event, a promotion held over someone’s head. In the City of Butler and across the county, manufacturing, steel, and healthcare produce a different set of problems entirely. We handle both.
